On the legendary Kawasaki KLR650, the lower Uni-Trak suspension linkage hangs right in the line of fire. It sits directly under the swingarm, constantly pelted by trail debris, mud, water and sand. Kawasaki originally designed the small 11012-1559 cover to press-fit over the lower shock pivot bolt, keeping that critical recess dry and grit-free. But decades of maintenance, exposure to UV rays, aggressive pressure washing and rough terrain eventually take their toll. The part loses its grip and goes missing on the trail or in the garage.
Once that cap is gone, water and dirt collect in the pivot bolt recess, this directly accelerates rust on your Uni-Trak hardware and risks contaminating the needle bearings inside.
